Setting an exciting future for Healthcare Science in Wales

The Healthcare Science Programme within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and the Healthcare Science Research and Innovation Group (HCS RIG) have developed the first 5 year strategy ‘Research and Innovation for Healthcare Science Professionals in NHS Wales’.

The strategy was informed by the healthcare science profession in Wales across all specialties, it aims to establish healthcare science professionals as recognised key contributors of research, innovation and in the transformation of clinical practice at a time that NHS Wales has increasing needs.

Professor Chris Hopkins, AHCS President-Elect and Chair of the Healthcare Science Research & Innovation Group (Wales), said:

“It’s been a labour of love bringing the first-ever Healthcare Science Research and Innovation Strategy in Wales to life. This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and expertise of the All Wales Healthcare Science R&I Group. A special thanks to Brogan Cabraal and Sarah Bant, whose hard work and commitment have been instrumental in getting us to this stage. Their efforts, along with the contributions of Health and Care Research Wales, have laid the foundation for an exciting future in healthcare science research and innovation across Wales.”
