What is it?
A funded leadership programme (no course fees to pay) supported by the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) designed specifically for Audiologists who have a role in the development and/or delivery of Paediatric Audiology Services, particularly those who will be involved in developing “Ear checks for children and young people attending residential special schools and colleges in England.”
This programme is unique. An experiential leadership programme just for you, grounded in real work (i.e. you use your real world experience as the foundation and testbed for your learning) with a strong emphasis on collaboration and co-production, reflective and reflexive practice, peer support and the development of your personal leadership impact.
The programme is led by Kev Wyke, an Audiologist by background with extensive experience of NHS clinical leadership at local, regional and national level and 15 years experience of developing leaders at all levels within the NHS and beyond. We will also draw on practical expertise from commissioning, service development/improvement and beyond.
Who is it for? What grade do I have to be?
We aren’t setting a grade requirement, if you work in Paediatric Audiology and you think you will have a role delivering the ear checks programme locally it is definitely for you. If you have a role developing/improving Paediatric Audiology Services at any level this is also for you. If you have another role that involves Paediatric Audiology this could well be for you, so fill in the form or drop programme lead Kev Wyke a line. ()
What commitment do I need to make?
The programme has a mix of face to face and virtual workshops with some work expected between workshops. (NB dates for virtual workshops are provisional and will be finalised with participants)

- 22nd January 2025 – Virtual Workshop
- 5th March 2025 – Virtual Workshop
- 10th April 2025 – Virtual Workshop
- 20th May 2025 – Virtual Workshop
- 1st July 2025 – Face to Face TBA
