Separate Audiology Register created as part of the PSA Accredited Register.
A separate part of the PSA Accredited Register has been created. These changes have been implemented as a first step to registering all audiologists in one place and gather information on areas of practice and associated training, specifically starting with Paediatric ABR. More information is available in the news section.
They have been put in place in response to issues raised about the quality of care in children hearing services, which have been the subject of independent reviews by both NHS England and NHS Scotland.

Recent reports have highlighted the ongoing work NHS England is leading to understand issues in the quality of care some children and families have received from local hearing services. In this blog, Professor Sir Stephen Powis, NHS England’s National Medical Director, and Professor Dame Sue Hill, the NHS Chief Scientific Officer, set out what has happened and what is being done to support those local services to find and treat children with hearing impairment they might have missed, and to improve for the future.
