PRESS RELEASE – AHCS Aural Care Community of Interest
AHCS Aural Care Community of Interest
Press release
The Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) is delighted to announce the creation of an Aural Care Community of interest in collaboration with the National Aural Care Strategy Group (NACSG). The NACSG is a professional working group consisting of representatives from professional bodies and organisations involved in Aural Care, as well as patient representative groups and aural care training providers.
Benefits to Aural Care providers in joining the AHCS Aural Care Community of Interest
The benefits to Aural Care providers who join the AHCS Aural Care Community of Interest include:
- An ability to influence and contribute to further developments of earwax removal/aural care provision.
- Receiving updates by email about earwax removal/aural care from both the AHCS and NACSG.
Purpose of the AHCS Aural Care Community of Interest
Establishing an AHCS Community of Interest provides a foundational step in defining this group and to enable the development of professional identity. The AHCS will do this by providing a platform through which good practice and education standards can be promoted as well as seeking stakeholder feedback.
An Aural Care Community of Interest can act as a ‘pre-registration’ space with the potential to develop into an accredited aural care register if sufficiently supported by those eligible to join.
It is important to note that the AHCS Aural Care Community of Interest is not a register and sits separately to the PSA Accredited register of the AHCS
Applying to join the Aural Care Community of Interest
You can apply to join the if you are:
- An earwax removal/aural care provider yourself or as part of your role and/or
- An earwax removal/aural care training course provider
The first five hundred applications to join the Aural Care Community of Interest will pay an application fee of £10 and thereafter it will be £20. An annual renewal fee will be payable to the AHCS by each member who wishes to remain on the Aural Care Community of Interest on the anniversary of joining.
