NHS England Publishes 2025 Workforce Race Equality Standard Data
NHS England has published the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) 2025 data analysis report for NHS trusts, examining ethnic inequalities across recruitment, career progression, disciplinary processes and staff experience.
The report shows that while there has been some progress in representation at senior levels, significant disparities persist for ethnic minority staff in areas including promotion, disciplinary outcomes and experiences of bullying and discrimination. Variation between trusts remains marked.
NHS England says the findings underline the need for sustained leadership focus and targeted action to improve race equality and inclusion across the NHS workforce.
