Update on Right Touch Assurance assessment for Healthcare Science
The Scottish Government Healthcare Science Policy Team have shared an update on the work which the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) is carrying out on behalf of Scottish Ministers in relation to healthcare science.
In Healthcare Science in Scotland: Defining Our Strategic Approach and Healthcare Science in Scotland: Redefining Our Workforce, the Scottish Government set out its intention to ensure the expertise of the Healthcare Science NHS workforce is fully utilised to meet the evolving needs of the population. To support that work, the PSA has been asked to consider whether current regulatory and employer controls are sufficient to manage any risk of harm arising from these roles.
The Scottish Government are eager that the views of the workforce are considered as part of this work and the PSA are beginning to engage with a range of stakeholders who could have evidence that would help guide the assessment, or who may simply want to join a Community of Interest for this piece of work.
Please see the Explainer, which has all the information about the PSA, the project, and how to get involved. You can also find this information on the PSA website.
The PSA are asking those who are interested to complete the following:
Data questionnaire – please submit by midnight on Sunday 9 August
Community of Interest questionnaire – please submit by midnight on Sunday 2 August.
